A Bold Transformation Rooted in Community, Powered by Possibility

At the Family YMCA of Northwest Illinois, we believe in building more than buildings—we build potential, access, and community.

VISION 2030 brings early learning, wellness, and community services together under one roof, positioning the Family YMCA of Northwest Illinois as a true hub for health, play, and connection across generations. We are relocating to 2900 W. Pearl City Road to create a new Healthy Living Campus, uniting our Children’s Center, fitness and aquatics facilities, and community programs with mission-aligned partners.

Phase 1 – Early Learning Expansion

By July 2027, we will renovate 22,000 square feet at 2900 W Pearl City Rd to create a state-of-the-art Early Learning Center.

This new space will:

• • Serve 170 children ages 6 weeks to pre-K (up from 103)

• • Offer modern classrooms tailored to each developmental stage

• • Provide families with increased access to high-quality, licensed care

• • Strengthen the future of Northwest Illinois by supporting our youngest learners

Phase 2 – Health & Wellness Reimagined

Following our early learning expansion, we will reimagine our health and wellness offerings to better serve the full spectrum of community members.

Plans under consideration include:

• • Dedicated group fitness space(s)

• • Inclusive areas for cardio, weights, and functional training

• • Natural lighting, open design, and universal accessibility
    Final designs and timelines to be shared as planning continues.

Phase 3 – Aquatics and Sports for All

We are actively exploring future additions that include:

• • Aquatics Center for swim lessons, fitness, recreation, and more

• • Multi-use gymnasiums for basketball, volleyball, pickleball, and more
