Pre-Kindergarten Class

Our Pre-Kindergarten Class will focus on the following:

* Writing first name

* Recognizing their entire name

* Recognizing upper and lower case letters

* Learning beginning sounds and blends - begin reading

* Math skills of graphing, measuring, adding and subtracting 1 - 10

* Exploring Science and Social Studies

* Developing cutting, gluing and coloring fine motor skills

* Leaning phone number, address and birthday

* Beginning computer skills

A typical day in our Pre-K Classroom:

6:30 - 8:00 AM Free play with three and four year-olds

8:00 - 8:30 AM Academic games related to the day's lesson

8:30 - 9:00 AM Snack

9:00 - 10:00 AM Circle time, center activities

10:00 - 11:00 AM Gross motor activities (outside, swimming or gym at the YMCA)

11:00 - 11:45 AM Classroom activities (small group: arts and crafts, letter recognition, numbers, colors, addresses, phone numbers, shapes and fine motor skill activities)

11:45 - 12:30 PM Lunch

12:30 - 3:00 PM Nap/rest time

3:00 - 5:30 PM Snack, free play indoors and outdoors, depending on the weather

5:30 - 6:00 PM Combine with remaining children from three and four year old classrooms
